KEN MILLER CAPITAL

I’m the President & CEO of Ken Miller Capital, LLC (“KMC”), a closely held merchant banking firm which invests in early-stage companies. I served as Vice Chairman of both Merrill Lynch Capital Markets and Credit Suisse First Boston. During my period as an active investment banker at those two places and at the boutique advisory merchant bank The Lodestar Group, which I founded and sold to Société Générale, I led financial transactions (mainly mergers & acquisitions) totaling approximately a half a trillion dollars.  Examples include Sumner Redstone’s takeover of Viacom, the sale of Gulf Oil to Chevron, the Estate of Howard Hughes in the sale of its Apache Helicopter business to McDonnel Douglas Corporation (now part of Boeing), and General Electric in the acquisition of its space in Rockefeller Center.

These days I am a venture capital investor with a special emphasis on leading or at least participating in the earliest round of capital when an entrepreneur starts a business. I have been doing this for many years, so that typically I am backing teams which I have previously invested in. Examples of successful exits include the sale of Protein Sciences to Sanofi, numberFire to Fanduel), Edmunds to CarMax. Existing portfolio companies include Divergent3DOvertime, RouteThis, Guggenheim Partners, Epistemic AI, Hark Audio,  and Contour Venture Partners.

I have served as a member of the Board of Directors of Viacom, Inc., Intelsat Corporation, Kinder Care Learning Centers, CNA Surety, and Loews Corporation.
